There are two things Vito loved more than anything: water and throwing things into the water. More specifically, he loved "his" creek, and throwing things into it that made a splash. During the summer, he would throw black walnuts (or "balls") into the water. During the winter, he would throw snowballs. However, his first choice was always rocks. He would tell us "walk, wawa, wock" which translated to "I want to go on a walk to the water to throw rocks." Rain, snow or shine, Vito wanted to go.
We couldn't think of a better way to spread Vito's story and the love he had than to share rocks as far and wide as possible. We are hoping they make it all over the globe.
If you found a rock, we ask a couple things of you:
Take a picture of the rock. Either with it or of it, showing its whereabouts if possible, and post it to our public Facebook page "Vito's Rocks" or to Instagram and tag @vitosrocks (links below). No social media? You can email it to Dominique at ddige117@gmail.com. All images that are uploaded or shared will be posted here. (If you include you or your child's picture with the rock, I will put a blue heart over their face to protect their privacy, unless you request otherwise).
Relocate the rock. Wherever you found it, bring it somewhere else. Bring it on vacation, bring it down the road, bring to the park, anywhere just to help the rock travel. Please just leave it where someone else can find it. We want as many people as possible to find and relocate the rocks!
Lastly, find a rock (not the Vito rock of course) and throw it into any body of water to make a splash in Vito's honor!
A big THANK YOU for participating! We just know Vito is getting a huge kick out of the big splashes everyone is making around the globe💙

Vito's Creek
As previously stated, Vito's favorite thing was to go on walks to the creek. Here is just a little gallery of some of our walks to the creek. After everything happened, his family graciously purchased a bench in his favorite color to put down at "his creek" where we always threw rocks and continue to throw one daily in Vito's honor. Our neighbor also planted flowers as his contribution to Vito. He is beyond loved by so many.
Fun fact: we have a big creek on our property. However, Vito always wanted to walk to the neighbors creek to throw rocks. Apparently he liked their creek better, so they were kind enough to let us set up a memorial sight for him there.
Vito throwing rocks with Dada💙
Copying dada's arms as he walks to the creek
Sometimes we'd take his car to the creek. He is asking where his "dog dog" is in this picture!
He made it to his creek with his walking stick!
Vito was very adamant about going to the wawa even though it was freezing cold! We finally gave in and im so happy we did. This was the day we threw snowballs into the water instead of rocks. He absolutely loved it.
